Application Instructions

- 2. Filling the Repair Area: For potholes or larger road cuts, place HP Asphalt Cold Patch in 2-inch (5 cm) lifts, compacting each layer before adding more. Slightly overfill by about ½ inch to allow traffic or mechanical tamping to level it out.
- 3. Compaction: Use a hand tamper, plate compactor, or truck tire to compact each layer thoroughly for a smooth finish.
Pro Tip: For an even longer-lasting repair, consider applying asphalt sealer once the cold patch has fully cured. Sealcoating protects the repaired area from UV rays, water infiltration, and chemical damage, while also giving the surface a uniform appearance. Be sure the patch is fully set before applying sealcoat to ensure optimal adhesion and prevent moisture entrapment.
