Crack Melters and Pour Pots
Choosing a Crack Fill Melter
After decades of doing asphalt crack repairs professionally, I can tell you the right equipment makes a difference, especially when you need to use hot pour crack filler. You've probably seen the same Youtube videos that I have of people messing around with turkey pour pots . . . {facepalm}.
A crack fill melter allows you to melt blocks of rubberized filler, and an applicator or pour pot will let your apply the melted filler to your cracks.
I worked with RynoWorx to help change the industry with the RY10 Pro Melter applicator. It's one of the safest, most reliable machines on the market today. Here's a fun picture from the National Pavement Expo when I helped Leigh Kuhn (in the bottom left) explain this product to the crowds. None of these seasoned vets had ever seen a crack repair machine that wouldn't blow out in the wind! It was a game-changer.
Choose a wheeled melter applicator if you're looking for an all-in-one machine that you can pull out, heat up, and repair cracks on the fly.
Choose a stationary 10 gallon kettle if you want to bolt something onto a truck or trailer, and then just fill a crack pour pot from the kettle - like a vending machine for coffee. This is a great combination for an asphalt contractor who does driveways and wants to move quickly from property to property.
Choose a larger 30 gallon kettle crack sealer melter if you run a crew and want the team to be able to pull up to your 'coffee station', fill up their pour pots or even their melter applicators. The large kettle is working away melting while they're applying, which saves you hours of wasted labor over the course of a season. These machines truly pay for themselves if you are running a crew.
